Comienza una nueva temporada de premiaciones a lo mejor de la industria televisiva y cinematográfica de Hollywood. Como cada año para esta época, el mes de Diciembre, se dan a conocer las nominaciones a los Globos de Oro y Screen Actors Guild.

Con un día de diferencia, la Asociación de la Prensa Extranjera en Hollywood (HPFA) y el Sindicato de Actores (SAG), dieron a conocer sus respectivas listas de nominados para la 75º edición de los Globos de Oro, que se llevará a cabo el Domingo 7 de Enero, y la 24º edición de los Screen Actors Guild, que se entregarán el Domingo 21 de Enero de 2018.

El Lunes 11 por la mañana, en el Hotel Beverly Hilton de Los Angeles, la presidente de la HFPA (Hollywood Foreign Press Association), Meher Tatna, brindó algunos detalles y luego presentó a los actores Kristen Bell, Garrett Hedlund, Alfre Woodard y Sharon Stone, quienes fueron los encargados de leer la larga lista de nominados para la gala que estará conducida por Seth Meyers.

La miniserie «Big Little Lies», recientemente renovada para una segunda temporada por HBO, lidera su categoría con seis estatuillas mientras que el film «Thr Shape of Water», del director Guillero del Toro, hace lo propio con siete. Este año, el premio honorífico, Cecil B. DeMille, lo recibirá Oprah Winfrey.

Los Screen Actors Guild

Al dia siguiente, Olivia Munn («X-Men: Apocalipsis») y Niecy Nash («The Soul Man»), fueron las encargadas de realizar el anuncio, el cual tomó lugar en el teatro del Pacific Design Center’s SilverScreen de West Hollywood. Primeramente, la presidenta del Comité de Premios SAG, JoBeth Williams, y la miembro del Comité, Elizabeth McLaughlin, anunciaron a los elencos de dobles de cine y televisión que están nominados este año.

Luego, la Presidenta de la entidad, Gabrielle Carteris (la recordada Andrea Zuckerman de “Beverly Hills 90210”), introdujo a la dupla de actrices, quienes luego de darle la bienvenida a los medios de prensa, revelaron los nombres de los aspirantes en 13 categorías (8 correspondientes a la televisión prime-time y 5 al cine).

Nuevamente, «Big Little Lies» lidera su categoría con cuatro estatuillas. Por su parte, el film «Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri» hace lo propio con la misma cantidad.
