Hi! my name is Jealousy, and no, I’m not kidding, I’m a Twitch streamer and aerialist from Washington State and thanks to «Cine y más…», an argentine website about movies, tv shows and pop culture in general, I had the opportunity to attend to ECCC 2024.

Once there, picking up my press badge was a little bit confusing for me, since it was 3 blocks away from the venue -I’ll keep this in mind for the next one (fingers crossed)- but the experience was very good in general.

This huge convention took place at the Seattle Convention Center, between Thursdays February 29th and Sunday March 3rd. A massive amount of people gathered there to spend time with other pop culture lovers and meet their favourite actors from their favourite shows and movies, artists, cosplayers and so much more.

This year lineup included Chris Evans (Avengers: Endgame, Captain America and Knives Out), Andrew Lee Griffith (Transformers, GI Joe, Star Wars), Ashley Greene (Twilight), Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us), Billy Dee Williams (Star Wars), Christina Ricci (The Addams Family, Yellowjackets, Casper), Misha Collins (Supernatural), Jodie Whittaker (Doctor Who), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future and The Addams Family) and Maggie Lawson and Timothy Omundson (both from Psych) among other huge stars.

The ECCC occupied five floors of Seattle Convention place starting with merchandise on the first level. The second floor consist of the artist alley while the third flood has workroom ranging from MoPOP (Museum of Pop Culture), Midsummer Rennaissance Faire and Convention horror stories. I even got caught by the Ren Faires professional fairy catcher.

Also on the 3rd floor, they had «The Tavern» and there was a «Maid Cafe» where girls were dressed as very extra maids and they did little performances on a mini stage throughout the day.

The 4th floor had the cosplay first aid, some classes about cosplay things, the Star Wars room and the droids in the hall to take pictures with. I went to the cosplay first aid area a couple times trying to get help with my braid.

There was a fifth floor but it was mostly just decorative the day I went, no one really up there or anything happening in the rooms, just a couple photo op opportunities.

In the artist alley there was a lot of «Pokémon» merchandise and «Avatar: The Last Airbender» (ATLA) and «Baldurs Gate» art. Of course there were lots and lots of comic book stuff as well. One of my friends, who attended too, was excited because one of the artists of several Magic the Gathering cards was there selling things.

The vendors were all super sweet. There was a lack of clothing compared to other cons in my opinion, but for an off day (the only day I could attend due to scheduling reasons), everyone was able to actually move and breathe and people were still dressed up.

One of the coolest things I experienced, was everyone wanted to take pictures of me and chat, specially this little girl dressed as Toph Beifong from ATLA.

I really enjoyed it! And I just wish I didn’t have to perform the rest of the weekend so I could stay there. I can’t wait for the next edition that will take place from March 6-9, 2025. Hope to see you all there!
